Come See Us at the Craft Show in Waynesville on Saturday!

We will be selling our artwork and crafts at the Blue Ridge Artists and Crafters Association’s “Cabin Fever” Spring Craft Show this Saturday, April 17, 2021. The event will be held at the Smoky Mountain Event Center (formerly the Haywood County Fairgrounds) at 758 Crabtree Rd. in Waynesville, NC. The show will be open from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM and admission is free. If you are going to be in area this weekend, please come by and check it out. It’s not supposed to rain and the temperature should be in the lower 60’s – a great day for shopping for crafty stuff! Hope to see you there!!

We will have original artwork, including paintings, wood signs, coasters, and tile trivets, as well as items like note cards and matted prints featuring original art for sale at the show. All items sold by vendors at the event will be handcrafted by the artists and crafters. It will be a great day to find something for Mom for Mother’s Day, and it is always a good day to shop for a little something for yourself!

Hope to see you there!

More Digital Artwork

Here are a few of the things I have been doing with the digital paintings I have been painting lately. I have never really liked painting flowers because they hardly ever turn out like I intend them to. Using the Procreate program makes it easier though, because you can erase your mistakes as many times as you need to without tearing up or reworking your paper.

These flowers have turned into some very nice note cards. I am also offering them as digital downloads for printable artwork in two sizes, 4 x 6 and 5 x 7. With these, you can have fresh flowers all year round! They are for sale in my shop and in my Etsy shop.

Digital Painting Time Lapse Video

I have been using Procreate for creating digital paintings, and I am having a ball! One of the cool features of Procreate is that it records all brushstrokes into a video. I am posting one of those videos here to let you see the process of creating my painting of daffodils in a blue vase.

In the video, you will notice that before I added the “regular” colors of the flowers and the rest of the painting, I did an underpainting of other colors. The reason for this is to allow some of these colors to show through in the final painting to add more dimension and glow.

I hope you enjoy this little video!
